The Ninja Creami machine revolutionized homemade ice cream making when it launched in 2021. Unlike traditional ice cream makers that require specific ratios of dairy and sugar, this innovative appliance transforms virtually any frozen mixture into creamy desserts.
Key Features
- Makes ice cream, gelato, sorbet, milkshakes, and smoothie bowls
- Works with dairy, non-dairy, and protein-based mixtures
- Single-serve pints prevent waste
- Ready in minutes after freezing
- Easy to clean with minimal parts
Base Recipe for All Ninja Creami Recipes
This versatile base works for most Ninja Creami recipes. Customize it with different flavors, mix-ins, and dietary adaptations.
- Cream cheese – 2 tbsp (dairy or vegan)
- Heavy cream – 3/4 cup (or coconut cream for dairy-free)
- Milk – 1 cup (any variety)
- Sugar – 1/3 cup (or sugar substitute)
- Vanilla extract – 1 tsp

Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Mixture
Whisk melted cream cheese with half the cream until smooth. Add sugar and whisk until dissolved. Stir in remaining ingredients.
Step 2: Freeze
Pour into Ninja Creami pint container, leaving 1/2 inch headspace. Freeze for at least 3 hours (24 hours max).
Step 3: Churn
Place frozen container in machine. Select “Ice Cream” or “Lite Ice Cream” setting. Process for 2-4 minutes until creamy.
Step 4: Serve or Customize
Scoop immediately for soft-serve texture or freeze 30 minutes for scoopable consistency. Add mix-ins during final churn if desired.
Pro Tips for Perfect Ninja Creami Recipes
- Don’t overfill – Leave 1/2 inch below max line for proper churning
- Use room temperature cream cheese – Ensures smooth blending
- Dissolve sugar completely – Prevents graininess
- Freeze upright – Prevents uneven freezing
- Re-spin if needed – Some recipes benefit from extra processing

Let us know how it was!How long does it take to make ice cream in a Ninja Creami?
The Ninja Creami churns ice cream in just 3-4 minutes. For firmer, scoopable ice cream, freeze it for an additional 30 minutes after processing.
How do I stop my Ninja Creami desserts from getting icy on top?
Don’t stress about ice crystals forming on the surface – they’ll completely disappear once you process the mixture in your Ninja Creami machine.
Can I make multiple Ninja Creami desserts in a row without damaging the machine?
Yes! The Ninja Creami handles consecutive batches perfectly. When my family wants their own desserts, I make multiple batches back-to-back with no issues.
How do I properly clean my Ninja Creami machine?
Cleaning your Ninja Creami is simple since the machine itself never contacts the ice cream. You only need to regularly wash the outer bowl that holds the pint container.
Do I really need to freeze my mixture before using the Ninja Creami?
Yes, your mixture must be frozen for at least 3 hours before processing. If not properly frozen, you’ll end up with a liquid consistency rather than ice cream.

Tried the vanilla and chocolate and they were incredible. I’m very slow when it comes to cooking (I only cook toast lol…) and this was so doable for me. Can’t wait to try the rest of them!
I just got a ninja creami and I used this recipe it was so good it tasted like McDonalds soft serve highly recommend
RIGHT? It’s just so good!!!!
This was super helpful. Thanks a bunch!
I just got my Ninja Creamy and needed some recipes. Appreciate it!
This recipe also works well in the ice cream churn without the need to freeze, and then remix before freezing again. For the recipe I thank you as it is one of the best I have tried. Try Chai Spice or Vanilla Chai Latte as well. Buy these in sachets and brew them in a little of the milk that has been warmed before you start churning, I found 3 sachets were to my liking. Let cool and add to the ice cream mixture. Put into an airtight container and freeze. Enjoy.
I was excited to try this recipe, and it came out even better than I expected! I love customizing my ice cream so I know what’s in it. Great recipe!
Great recipes!
My husband is on a carnivore diet and can’t have milk. Can you make the base without milk?
Yes, heavy cream is a fab substitute!
Great base recipe. Loved using it.
Thanks for new flavors to try. My go to is Peanut Butter Frozen Yogurt: 1 cup plain greek yogurt 1/4 cup milk 1/4 cup peanut butter 1/4 cup sugar 1 tsp vanilla I’ve had my Creami for 3 years and I always go back to this (or Lemon Frozen Yogurt using greek yogurt, milk and 2 Tbls lemon pudding mix).

We gor mine on sale in august for about 150. I’m pretty sure they run about $200 or so.
